Oral health is an integral part of your Pet’s health.
Dentistry (COHAT) is assessing, treating and preventing oral cavity problems. Plaque is an invisible film on teeth which leads to dental tartar and calculus formation. Gingivitis (inflammation of gums) develops due to growth of bacteria under the gum line which leads to pockets around teeth, erosion of periodontal ligament, bone loss and eventually loss of tooth/teeth. During the dental your pet’s mouth will be hand scaled and ultrasonically scaled to remove calculus above the gum line, followed by Sub gingival scaling that removes calculi below the gum line. Next a high speed polisher is use to smooth the tooth surface.
During the procedure the oral cavity is also examined for any lump, cyst or other abnormality of mouth.
